Housing Solutions

The team can:

• Offer advice to enable households to evaluate their housing options

• Provide housing advice and assistance to prevent households becoming homeless. This can sometimes include financial assistance to obtain alternative accommodation

• Accept Homelessness Applications under s184 of the Housing Act, and determine them in accordance with statute

• Offer temporary or emergency accommodation if a household is eligible for this practical assistance

The team operate a drop-in service for routine enquiries as follows:

Mondays to Fridays: 10.00 – 16.00

If you are roofless, then you may be able to see an officer outside these times.  Outside normal office hours, the team run an emergency phone service which can be accessed on 01432 260000 when Council offices are closed.
