Madley Environmental Study Centre (MESC)

In September 2001, the Registered Charity, Madley Environmental Study Centre (MESC) was formed. The aims of the charity include providing environmental education to all ages and abilities, and to demonstrate the principal of sustainability through education and practical demonstration.
The main site consists of a nature reserve of seven acres, a diverse habitat of wetland, woodland and meadow, quite unique to Herefordshire, and secure within a perimeter fence.
We host pre-booked groups throughout the year and hold family activities during school holidays - check our Events Diary on our website to see what's on.
MESC has acquired a lease from BT of a further 13 acres which will be developed to increase the biodiversity of the site, encourage public access and provide an increased area for educational and fund raising activities. MESC is located on land subject to a 99 year lease from BT, adjoining the BT Madley Satellite Station, this provides a stunning backdrop to the MESC site which is located between the villages of Madley and Kingstone in the Golden Valley, approximately seven miles south-west of the Cathedral City of Hereford.
There is designated disabled parking on site and wheelchair-friendly access to key facilities.
