Acupuncture

The benefits of acupuncture are well known. This Holistic tradition which treats not only the symptoms of disease but also its root causes has been used effectively in China and surrounding countries for thousands of years.

Within Five Element Acupuncture everything is seen in terms of the Five Elements and the emphasis is to make sure that these Elements are in harmony.

Very fine needles which are sterile and disposable are inserted into specific points in order to stimulate a persons qi and to help it circulate more freely. Due to just how fine the needles are you will quite often not feel a thing.

Moxa which is a type of herb is traditionally used in conjunction with needles. The Moxa helps to nourish the qi.

Bringing the Five Elements into balance by working on the qi is said to not only treat disease but also to prevent it. Treatment takes place on physical, mental and emotional levels and is tailored to the individual.

There has been a great deal of research into the efficiency of acupuncture for a wide range of ailments. This has resulted in endorsements from both the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and the World Health organization.

Treatments start off on a weekly basis and then when there are signs of improvement the frequency of visits lengthen. Acupuncture can be used safely in conjunction with your usual medical care.

Please feel free to call and chat if you are interested in coming for treatment and would like to know more.
