Poachers Cottage
Falcons Rest is a purpose built service designed to meet the needs of people with a learning disability who also have a physical disability and/or sensory impairment. We work closely with people to help them achieve their aims and aspirations. We find even the smallest step forward can make a huge difference in the quality of a person's life. We aim to help everyone develop and maintain their own network of friends and relations by supporting home visits and inviting people to the service where possible.
The service is situated in beautiful surroundings, yet has easy access to Hereford and a broad range of community activities. Each person is encouraged to develop and experience a wide range of activities with full support. Links are being built with the local community and with specialist services, such as college courses and hydrotherapy and sensory facilities.
We have a large, dedicated team of staff who are passionate about the support they provide and about enabling the individuals that live here to lead as full and active lives as possible. Staff hours are specifically tailored around when individuals want to be supported. All of our staff are trained and experienced in supporting the individuals that live at Falcons Rest and take pride in the fact that the service has a relaxed feel. Staff also receive specialist training from our nurse.
The property has six spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, high specification, level access shower room. All bedrooms and bathrooms have potential for ceiling mounted sling hoists with tracking to provide safe and dignified support to those who may require this facility. There is also a specialist bathroom as well as spacious communal areas. We consult with specialists, such as occupational therapists, to help us tailor the environment to each individual's requirements.
