Sellack War Memorial Plaque Trail: from concept to reality (part of Herefordshire Histories Festival)

Local Historian, Bill Webb, will talk with Sellack Parish Councillor, John Marshall about researching the stories of the men on the Sellack War Memorial and Sellack Parish Councillor, Mark Robinson, will talk about honouring their memory with the installation of individual plaques on footpath gates to form a walking trail through Sellack Parish. The plaques were all individually sponsored and a Sellack resident will talk about why they decided to sponsor a plaque.

There are two ticket options:

Talk Only - ticket to join the 1 hour talk at the Church, from 10.30am and finishing at approximately 11.30am. No dogs please, apart from assistance dogs.

  • Talk and 3.5 Mile Guided Walk - ticket to join the 1 hour talk at the Church, followed by an (approximately) 3.5 mile guided walk, to view the full plaque trail. There is an option to stop after 1 mile and return to the church. The trail is uneven in places, with some short inclines included. Livestock will be present in fields. Sensible walking shoes/boots recommended.  A good level of fitness is recommended. No dogs.
Refreshments (tea and cake) will be available and provided by the Church, before the talk starts (donations to the Church are welcome).

Please note: field parking available only. St Tysilio's Church is within a rural location and access is via a narrow lane.
