Ring and Ride Community Transport

Community Transport may be able to help you.....
The Ring and Ride Community Transport Scheme provides an invaluable service to members of the local community who are either unable to use public transport or for whom no such services are available. It is mainly operated by volunteer drivers using their own vehicles.

Booking Ring and Ride Transport
If you qualify for the service you may apply through our office, by phone, 9am to 1pm on weekdays. Two working days notice is required (this excludes Saturday and Sunday in the notification period). The membership application form can be downloaded from our website.
The office is closed on all Bank Holidays.

Information required
- Confirmation that you do qualify for the service.
- Your name, address and telephone number.
- Date, time and location you require transport.
- Destination details/Appointment time.
- Return journey details.
- How many people will be travelling (will you be escorted by a carer?)
We cannot:
- Fulfil a request if a volunteer driver is not available.
- Pick up casual passengers.
- Provide holiday transport to airports etc.
- Provide an alternative where journeys are covered by Social Services, Educational or Health Authority transport.
- Provide escorts for you.
Additional points:
- The driver is not expected to assist you with the handling of goods.
- Carriage of goods is at the discretion of the driver.
- All drivers carry identity cards and have 'Fare Cards'. Fares are collected by the driver on completion of a journey.
- Seatbelts must be worn.
