Herefordshire Shared Lives

We are the Herefordshire Shared Lives Scheme, managed and commissioned by Herefordshire Council.

We take a community-based approach to support adults with learning disabilities, mental health or other needs which make it hard for them to live alone, so they can live their lives as independently as possible.

We recruit, assess and train Shared Lives Carers, who live throughout Herefordshire, who are paid on a self-employed basis to share their home, family and community life and give care and support to the adult with care needs.

We offer long term arrangements, short breaks and Shared Days, working with adults of any age who wish to live, stay or spend time within a supported family-based Shared Lives setting.

If you would like more information on Shared Lives, either about living in a long term arrangementshort breaks arrangement, shared days or to become a Shared Lives Carer, please get in touch with the team on 01432 260798 or sharedlives@herefordshire.gov.uk.
