Marches Counselling Service
MCS is a counselling charity that provides a counselling and psychotherapy service. Our therapists have developed their skills in a number of different settings, both NHS and voluntary. We are not a specialist service for people facing difficulties in one area of life, but rather have experience in helping people with a wide range of problems. We offer different forms of counselling and therapy to match people’s needs. These are assessed at the first appointment with us.
Our service is for adults aged 18 and above. Our counsellors offer appointments throughout the week including outside of normal working hours. Enquiries can be made between 9am and 1pm (confidential answer machine at other times).
We have a purpose designed counselling suite in Hereford and use rooms in the market towns. Due to the restrictions associated with the coronavirus we are now offering online assessments and sessions, as well as some person-to-person appointments.
Our aim is to provide psychological therapies at a cost that people can realistically afford. If you are on a low income please do ask us about help with paying for counselling.
MCS has secured funding to help people who are experiencing emotional problems, for example due to bereavement or the loss of their livelihood, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ongoing therapeutic group for people with long-term health conditions
The purpose of this online group is to provide a safe, welcoming space where people with long term health conditions can meet and talk together.
It will ask what we want from our bodies and how we feel when this is challenged. Looking at various physical conditions, we will share experiences and coping strategies, including their impact on us and those around us. In joining the group, your growing understanding of how body and mind together can increases a sense of wellbeing, whatever your condition.
Over the first year, we'll be offering this support to people on a donation basis. For further information, visit our website, email us on admin@marchescounselling.org or call 01432 279906.
