Moving and Handling - Induction

Care and support workers need to know how to assist their clients to move safely and with dignity. This induction programme should be undertaken in advance of care being undertaken as it protects both the worker/carer and the individual who is using the service.

The course is for all who assist with any of the following activities:

    • Supporting in and out of vehicles

    • Help with moving from bed to chair, from chair to the toilet or commode

    • Help to get up from the floor following falls

A refresher is required annually, which is also available through Hoople.
