The Living Room

The Living Room is a friendly Café, Community Larder and Community Space, in the heart of Hereford, which caters for a range of uses from official training events and activities, delivered by ourselves or other organisations, to private hire for birthday parties or use by the community to form peer support groups and activities.
Community Larder: It costs £5 to join and then £5 a week for approximately 10 items of your choice, with best before items on top.
We collect donated goods from supermarkets that could be best before date that day and also in date items, plus we use the membership fees to buy food from Fareshare, ensuring a continuing supply of stock and a good variety.
The larder is about saving food waste and getting more for your money, but also about helping our neighbours and others, when they are experiencing difficult times and food poverty. We are able to provide food parcels quickly and help refer people onto longer term support, if needed.
Community Space: If you would like to hire our Community Space or have an idea for a group you'd like to run within the space, please get in touch to discuss this further.
Talk Community Hub: We are also part of a network of Talk Community Hubs across Herefordshire, which provide a safe place where you can access wellbeing information and signposting to local services, groups or activities, both in Hereford and across the county. We can also help you to navigate the benefits system and can offer information on debt and community resources by signposting to relevant organisations. We do this in a humanistic way, with no judgment or endless forms to fill in. Please note: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our Talk Community Hub is currently only available via phone or email on Thursday from 1pm to 5pm. Please contact us on 01432 381838 or thelivingroomhereford@gmail.com and we will endeavour to respond within 24 hours.
At The Living Room, we are about community cohesion, getting people to work together for the good of the community by sharing skills, befriending, mental health support, volunteering and working together to make our city a better place, ensuring no one is left out and segregated.
