Herefordshire Expedition Group

Herefordshire Expedition Group (HEG) is a charity run by volunteers that gives 16-18 years olds in herefordshire life-changing experiences in challenging environments. Founded in 2005 by Giles Smith and Andy Preedy, following their own expedition to Everest, HEG has been creating transformative opportunities ever since.

HEG expeditions are built around four main objectives:

  • Physical challenge - pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone.

  • Cultural experience - immersing yourself in different traditions and lifestyles.

  • Giving back - volunteering and supporting local communities.

  • Conservation - helping protect the natural environment.
