YSS is a diverse and vibrant independent charity providing community based support services for people who are vulnerable, have complex needs and who face difficult life changes.

We are offering three projects in Herefordshire:

  • Chrysalis enables and empowers women and their families to overcome disadvantage, inequality and poverty whilst increasing financial resilience
  • #MORSE can help people who have either been convicted of a road traffic offence, or who are at risk of committing an offence. Making Our Roads Safer for Everyone.
  • Remember Veterans

More about Chrysalis

The women-only Chrysalis service seeks to enable and empower women and their families to overcome disadvantage, inequality and poverty whilst increasing financial resilience. The keyworker will assess and prioritise a woman's immediate needs and give continuous and consistent remote/virtual support, acting as a single point of contact to coordinate services. Chrysalis is the proactive service designed and run by women, for women and their families.

    • We facilitate an environment whereby women feel prioritised, safe and validated when exploring their own needs and goals.

Remember Veterans

This service is for military veterans who are currently in, or are at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system.

The service works closely with the veteran to develop an intensive 1:1 support plan which aims to enable the veteran to access sustainable, independent living whilst reducing the likelihood of offending/re-offending.

More about YSS

YSS is an independent charity that works with some of the most marginalised people in society. These include children as young as seven who are acting as young carers, families who need additional support and people coming out of prison.

YSS is there to support and empower people to make positive choices and have better lives. Many of the people we help have little of what most of us take for granted - whether that is a roof over our head, positive family relationships, strong friendships, good health or financial resilience.
