Herefordshire Shared Lives - Long term arrangement

Herefordshire Shared Lives, managed and commissioned by Herefordshire Council, is a community-based approach to support adults with learning disabilities, mental health problems or other needs which make it hard for them to live alone, so they can live their lives as independently as possible.
We offer people an alternative and highly flexible form of accommodation and care or support, sharing a Shared Lives Carer’s home, family and community life.
In a long-term arrangement, you will live in an approved Shared Lives Carer’s home and receive care and support, as agreed by you as part of your individual plan. You will have your own room, but will generally share other facilities, such as a bathroom and meals with the carer and their family. You will be enabled to access daytime community opportunities, independently of your Shared Lives carer.
As no two Shared Lives households are the same, you will go through a careful matching process to make sure we find the best Shared Lives arrangement to meet your needs.
If you would like more information on our long term Shared Lives arrangements, our short breaks arrangements or Shared Days, if that's better for you, please get in touch with the team on 01432 260798 or sharedlives@herefordshire.gov.uk.
