Lower Bush Farm care farm
Welcome to Lower Bush Farm. We provide a warm, person-centred environment where adults with learning disabilities can take part in meaningful, well-supported work that builds skills, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Our groups help with animal care, woodworking, gardening, orchards, woodlands and vegetable patches. These activities are adapted to each person’s abilities and interests so everyone can take part safely and enjoyably. Animal care encourages empathy and responsibility, woodworking offers creative and practical tasks for different skill levels, and outdoor work supports physical activity and the wellbeing benefits of being outside.
Beyond practical skills, the farm is a friendly community. Working together helps people develop social skills, form friendships, and build supportive networks. We value every individual’s contribution and foster a culture of respect, collaboration and encouragement.
All roles are tailored to the individual to promote independence and purpose. We work closely with parents, social workers and other partner agencies to support each person’s welfare. To make communication straightforward, the farm provides a designated contact person for every student and placement agency so any concerns can be addressed quickly.
We welcome prebooked visits from potential service users, their families, social workers, etc.
The Farm is also an education alternative provision provider through Herefordshire Council. We provide farm and Forest School opporuntities for studnets. Students aged 14+ have the option of working towards level 1 qualifications.
