Community transport minibuses
If you have difficulty getting around, Community Action Ledbury’s Ring & Ride volunteer car service is here to help. Our volunteer drivers, will pick you up from your home, take you where want you go, wait while you complete your appointment and bring you home again.
“A very efficient service, punctual and friendly”
Eligibility
The service is for people who do not have access to a car and cannot use public transport for their journey. To use the service, you must live in Ledbury or the surrounding villages (Much Marcle, Colwall, Cradley, Bosbury, Tarrington).
What sort of journeys?
We give priority to medical appointments (hospital, doctor dentist etc), but you can use the service for a wide range of other journeys including: shopping, getting to hairdressers, visiting friends and family and connecting to bus and rail journeys.
Cost
There is an annual membership fee of £20.00 (£7.00 if on benefits) and a fee per trip depending of the mileage – for example, a short return trip across Ledbury is £6.00 and Ledbury to Hereford Hospital return is £24.00
Waiting time
Depending on the location, our volunteer drivers will wait up to one and a half hours, while you have your appointment.
Notice for bookings
Once you have joined the scheme, we need a minimum of two working days’ notice to book a journey.
Wheelchair users
Using a special wheelchair accessible vehicle, the Ring & Ride service is also available to wheelchair users (subject to certain limitations on wheelchair types).
