Conductive Enablement

Conductive Education (CE) is an educational approach that teaches children and adults how to tackle and deal with the difficulties caused by their neurological condition, like Parkinson's disease, in the best possible way.

CE is a learning process, its essence is involving individuals with their own motor learning; it is not about providing people with a passive treatment.  In CE, the emphasis is on how to move instead of what to do; and thinking about how to carry out a movment rather than what movement comes next; this is one of the characteristics that makes CE tasks much more meaningful than just simple excercises.

CE is not a cure however, it can offer a means to control the physical symptoms, to improve motor function as well as increase independent living by providing practical techniques, increasing confidence and assisting in finding the motivation to achieve goals.
