Counselling - Forest of the Mind LTD
Our Philosophy
The goal of person-centred counselling is to help you:
At Forest of the Mind Counselling Hereford, we believe that you are the best expert on your own life—and that, given the right support, you can find your own answers, healing, and direction. This approach is known as Person-Centred Counselling, a type of talking therapy that puts you at the centre of the process. Our counselling services are designed to help you unlock your potential and achieve your goals.
What you can expect
Your counsellor will:
- Listen without judging you
- Respect your thoughts, feelings, and choices
- Give you the space to explore what matters to you
- Be real and open in the relationship with you
- Support you, but won’t tell you what to do
It’s a gentle, non-directive approach, meaning you decide what to talk about, and you set the pace. The counsellor doesn’t diagnose or give advice—they help you better understand yourself.
How it can help
Person-centred counselling can help if you’re:
- Feeling anxious or low
- Struggling with confidence or self-worth
- Coping with a loss or big change
- Feeling stuck or unsure about something in life
- Finding it hard to talk to others
- Wanting a safe space to just be heard
This kind of therapy is often described as empowering and respectful. Many people find it deeply healing simply to be listened to and accepted without judgement.
Your Role
You don’t need to prepare anything. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. The focus is on building a trusting relationship, where you feel safe to explore whatever’s on your mind, in your own time.
The aim
The goal of person-centred counselling is to help you:
- Understand yourself better
- Feel more in control of your life
- Grow in self-confidence and clarity
- Make choices that feel right for you
