Floods, power cuts, gas emergency

  • In a flood - Tell Herefordshire Council on 01432 261800. If there is any risk of danger to people or property from floodwater ring 999.
  • In a powercut - 105
  • For a gas emergency - 0800 111 999.

Mental health

  • The Samaritans – 116 123

  • NHS urgent mental health helpline NHS 111 option 2 
  • Herefordshire Safe Haven - open 7 days a week 5pm-10pm,  for anyone over the age of 18, in crisis or in need of support 01432 271 643
  • SHOUT - 24/7 crisis support via text, if you're struggling to cope and need immediate help. Text HERE to 85258
  • Kooth offers online counselling and emotional wellbeing support to children and young people through their website and app. Sign up is required.

Domestic abuse

Food banks & community larders

You may need to be referred by a qualifying organisation or have a voucher to access the service, but if you contact your nearest food bank directly, they’ll be able to advise on the process.
