Life can be tough. Most men will face challenges that affect their mental health at some point, whether that's stress at work, money worries, relationship breakdowns, loneliness, grief, physical health problems, or the pressure of trying to keep everything together.
Around 1 in 7 men in England experience a common mental health problem, yet many men still don't look for support. Too often men feel they have to shoulder problems alone, keep their heads down and just get on with it.
But struggling doesn't mean you're weak. It means you're human.
Looking after your mental wellbeing doesn't have to mean having all the answers. Sometimes it's as simple as talking to a mate, getting out for a walk, joining a local group, speaking to your GP, or admitting that things aren't quite right.
The strongest thing you can do is take that first step.

Herefordshire Mind Safe Haven is open 7 days a week (365 days a year) from 5pm to 10pm, for anyone over the age of 18, in crisis or in need of support.

Men Who Talk offer free, online social groups helping men talk about what matters, without judgment.
Samaritans offer support for whatever you're going through, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A Samaritan will face it with you.

Andy's Man Club: Peer-to-peer support group for men aged 18 and over. Every Monday 7pm - 9pm excluding Bank Holidays at Westfields Football Club, Hereford.
Hereford Men’s Mental Health Group (HMMH): This relaxed peer support group meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Hereford Men Walking and Talking Group - This group starts at 6a Edgar Street (HR4 9JU, opposite the Premier Inn) and offers fresh air, exercise, and peer connection. You can view meetup times on their site. Every Wednesday at 7pm.
