If you’re looking for something to keep you and your family occupied this summer, we’ve got you covered!  Below is a list of fun activities and events taking place across Herefordshire during the school holidays.

Brockhampton National Trust, nr. Bromyard

An apple a day trail
19 July – 31 August
10am-4.30pm

Embark on an exciting adventure filled with interactive stations to learn about different apple varieties, their origins, and fun facts about apples.
£3 includes a prize, normal admission applies

Pond dipping
Thursday 7 August, 21 August
11am – 3pm

Join the ranger team to discover all the weird and wonderful creatures living in and around the pool!
Free to attend, normal admission applies

Summer of Play
Saturday 19 July – 31 August

Enjoy a playful day with garden games and activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Dorstone Bowling Club, HR3 6AW
Wednesdays 6, 13, 20, 27 August & Sundays 10, 17, 24, 31 August, 2.15-5.30pm

Enjoy Crown Green Bowls. All ages welcome! (Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
£3 per session. 

 

Dino Trail, Hereford City Centre
Thursday 7 - 31 Sunday August 

Trail maps can be picked up or downloaded. Trail maps can be collected from Hereford Tourist Information Centre, some cafes and shops, and on event days, or you can download one from the
Hereford City Life event page.

Epic Explorers Summer Holiday Club, Hereford Cathedral Barn.
Wednesday 20 – Friday 22 August 9am-3pm

Open to primary-aged children, Epic Explorers will bring Bible stories to life through storytelling, crafts, singing, games and special guests workshops. Children will need to bring a packed lunch, but a morning snack will be provided.
The cost for the full three day club is £50 per child with a £5 discount for siblings.

Intensive Swimming Lessons
Monday 21 July - Thursday 28 August

30 minutes of focused learning and fun per day, with options for little ones new to swimming, or those looking to level up their skills. Visit the website for more details. 
£31.50 for the 4 day course. Book in advance.


Water Polo Lessons
Monday 18 August - Thursday 21 August

A 4 day intensive water polo course for confident swimmers aged 9+ or children currently at stage 5 or above on the Halo learn to swim programme.

Junior Bowls Club, Hereford Bowling Club
Saturdays 23 August and 30 August
10.30am – 12pm

Free outdoor bowling session for kids aged 17 and under. Families are welcome.

Follow a STEM*  themed trail through the historic rooms of the Old house and explore science, technology and creativity as a family. (*Science, technology, engineering and maths)

Toros FC Summer Football Camp 2025
Belmont Abbey, Hereford, HR2 9RZ

Come and join the fun, make new friends and develop your football skills. Skills, fun, tournaments, prizes and more! Suitable for children aged 5-12, every Monday - Thursday throughout the summer holidays. Advance booking required.

Story Garden Art with Sarah Morton at Belmont Library
Tuesday 19 August 2-4pm

Sarah will be leading family sessions suitable for all ages. Have fun experimenting! No booking required. Drop in anytime between 2-4pm. All children must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.

Dig deep and uncover hidden treasures while learning about ancient civilizations

Summer of Play

Discover the natural play area and enjoy lawn games in the walled garden.

Sport Games at Lady Hawkins Community Leisure Centre

Julia loves sharing stories with children. The reading of each book isn’t rushed, but aims to give them time and space to enjoy the text and illustrations.

The Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden
5 July – 6 September, Herefordshire Libraries

Children are invited to visit their local library, discover new books and enjoy a summer filled with fun, imagination and outdoor inspiration designed to keep them curious.
