We are working with third party organisations, to support you to get the help you need (because life can be unpredictable).

Organisations are providing support across Herefordshire, to help boost your skills and knowledge to help you manage your money.

Ethos

Offering a triage service to provide initial budgeting guidance, referral services to other agencies and classes offering affordable and accessible recipes. 

  • Cookery classes are tailored to align with the food parcels provided and educate individuals about overall cost-effective living strategies.
  • Support available for comprehensive benefits checks and support to identify potential grant opportunities. 
  • Facilitate access to debt advice.
  • Assist individuals in attending appointments to maximize their income or prevent homelessness.

Ledbury Community Hub

The Cart Shed

The Cart Shed are a mental health charity offering a range of programmes to support people with a range of challenges. 

Tutors can use the information library to tailor bespoke information packs for anyone attending the sessions. You can visit the website to make a referral, contact via email or call the office on 01544 318231

Echo

Individual appointments will be available to go through bank statements and answer any questions participants may have about finance and money. Multiple sessions will be available for anyone requiring intensive support.

Support will be available to build basic budget planning and money handling skills in easy read format.

Leominster Foodbank 
Tuesdays and Fridays 11am-12pm

Money mentors are available to support people with money worries, big or small. They can refer people on to free and trusted debt advice services, help with budgeting and filling in forms as well as linking people with other support where needed. Call or text 07563 000862 to book an appointment or drop in to see a money mentor during our food bank sessions on Tuesday or Friday between 11-12.

Countywide support

Age UK Wyvern provides support to residents of Herefordshire with a strong focuse on ensuring older people are receiving all the financial help available to them. Through free and confidential benefit entitlement checks, our team helps individuals identify and claim benefits they may not be aware of, boosting income and easing financial pressure.

Citizens Advice provide support and advice up to generalist casework level and specifically provide income maximisation, welfare benefits checks and form filling, debt and housing advice and related matters with the provision of a level of ongoing support.

In addition, to provide advice, information and support to improve the money management skills and financial capability of clients.

Herefordshire Young and Young Adult Carers (HYYAC)  provides money management and advice sessions to provide targeted support to Young Adult Carers at transitional moments in their lives, such as starting college, employment or living independently for the first time.

They can offer Young Adult Carers support with the knowledge they need to ensure they are able to access grants, benefits, balance their budgets and accessing available support. 

Offering  one to one financial advice sessions  across the county, by telephone. 

The public can access these by registering with us if they are aged between 16 and 25 and providing care to someone with an illness, disability, mental health condition or addiction to drugs or alcohol. Visit the HYYAC website for more information.
