Free Digital Support for Children’s Anxiety

05 October 2026

Families across Herefordshire can now access Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage completely free of charge. Developed in partnership with the NHS, this interactive digital therapy app is designed to help children aged 7 to 12 build confidence, manage worries and anxiety, and develop lifelong coping skills.

Presented as a fun intergalactic adventure game, Lumi Nova uses techniques based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help children gradually face fears and worries in a safe and engaging way. The app is recommended for children experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and is supported by NHS Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

Parents and carers register online to receive a free game key, download the app to a smartphone or tablet, and support their child as they work through personalised challenges and missions. The game is designed to build resilience while keeping screen time balanced, with gameplay limited to 30 minutes per day.

Lumi Nova is available free for families living in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Please note that the service is not monitored by clinicians and is not suitable for children experiencing severe anxiety, mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or those at risk of self-harm without professional support.
