Heading to a farm this Easter? Protect yourself from germs

31 March 2026

Spring visits are great fun for families, but they also come with a higher risk of picking up infections from animals and the farm environment. Germs can be picked up from animal bodies, droppings, fences or gates, even when things look clean. Washing hands properly is the best way to stay safe.

🧼 Remember:
✅ Wash hands thoroughly with warm water and liquid soap after touching animals or surfaces
✅ Always wash hands before eating
✅ Hand gels and wipes are not a substitute for proper handwashing
✅ Clean shoes and pushchair wheels before leaving

Let’s make sure the only things we bring home this Easter are happy memories - not unwanted germs!
