Mental Health Awareness Week: The Power of Community

09 May 2025

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week, an annual campaign to raise awareness of mental health across the UK. It’s a time to encourage open conversations, challenge stigma, and remind us to look after our mental health, just as we do our physical health.

This year’s theme is “Community,” highlighting how the people around us—family, friends, neighbours, and local groups—play a vital role in our mental wellbeing. Strong communities create strong mental health, helping us feel connected, valued, and supported.

If you’re looking to connect with your community, you’ll find plenty of inspiration on the Talk Community Directory. From local groups and services to activities and events on our what’s on calendar.

Disclaimer: Talk Community Directory has only carried out limited checks on the information providers submit to the website, for example to confirm it's in the appropriate format and all required fields have been completed. Therefore it isn't in a position to know if providers are qualified, licensed or able to meet the needs of individuals, it is the responsibility of each individual to assess if a provider is suitable.
