Refugee Week 2026 - Community Events
11 June 2026
A wide range of events will take place across the county this June to mark Refugee Week 2026, bringing communities together to celebrate the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Running from 12–22 June, this year’s theme, “Courage,” highlights the strength it takes for refugees to leave their homes and rebuild their lives in a new country. It also recognises the compassion and commitment shown by local residents, including those who have opened their homes through the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
A diverse programme of events has been organised by partners across the county, offering opportunities for people to learn, connect and celebrate together.
Events include:
- A Refugee Week presence at Hereford Cathedral from Friday 12 June to Monday 22 June
- The Leominster Family Fun Day at The Grange on Saturday 13 June
- A church service at St Peter’s Church, Hereford, on Sunday 14 June (10am)
- Community engagement at Ledbury Market on Tuesday 16 June
- Activities at Hereford Market on Wednesday 17 June and Saturday 20 June
- A Ross-on-Wye Market event on Thursday 18 June
- A Kington Market event on Friday 19 June
