Visible and Valued SEND Celebration Week (22nd - 28th May 2025)

A week of celebration of our children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families to ensure that they feel visible and valued in their local community.
Herefordshire Council has partnered with local organisations to host a range of fun, inclusive events for children and young people with SEND, their families and the adults who support them.
Across the week you will find a range of activities that offer children and young people with SEND and their families a chance to try something new in a supportive, inclusive environment. There are also workshops and information sessions for parent carers and professionals to find out more about SEND and how they can support children and young people with SEND.
Many of the events are free of charge or offered at a reduced cost to enable as many families to take part as possible. All events are offered on a first-come, first-served basis so check the listings below and book your spaces at these exciting sessions!

Vision Impairment Awareness: A presentation and practical session informing you how to support a young person with vision impairment in your activities
Deaf Awareness: An introduction to deaf awareness and an opportunity to hear about the lived experiences of a Deaf person and learn about their challenges and triumphs. There will also be a chance to learn some introductory BSL signs.
