Family Hubs and Children's Centre services

From the 1 April 2026, there will be a rollout of Children’s Centres becoming Best Start Family Hubs, across Herefordshire, starting with Widemarsh. You will still be able to get the same support, help and advice as before but new services will begin to be offered, such as stay and play sessions.
We will keep you updated on new developments over the next few months.
Family Hubs and Children Centre services offer early help in a number of ways to make sure children have the best possible start in life. Support and services are available for all the family and carers involved in your child's care, including children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Herefordshire Council will work directly with communities to develop relevant services for the area.
Family Hubs and Children’s centre services offer:
- Family health and wellbeing services
- Early education
- Early Help family support and outreach services, if you are experiencing difficulties and need some extra help
- Togetherness Learning Pathways
- Support for local childminders
- Information and signposting to other agencies and services such as health professionals
- Support to help families access any free childcare or nursery education funding they are eligible for
